Meeting Minutes 6-29-05
Attendees;

Absentee:
- Abdul Bary Yahya – VP - Resigned on 6/29/05
Meeting opened by the “back-up” Secretary at 8:38 PM with a special invocation and explanation/clarification of the agenda, ground rules, guidelines to be followed during the meeting.
The following items were discussed and approved;
A hard copy of 6/22/05 meeting minutes was provided to all officials present for approval. It was suggested and agreed to read the minutes next time before approval.
Administration:
- The administrator reminded the committee for the up coming mosque clean-up exercise. He asked the religious officer to review all material inside the office for possible disposal and to archive. Archive material to be boxed and placed in the library.
- The administrator will solicit volunteers for cleaning all closets downstairs with the help of the mosque custodian.
- ICW office needs to be cleared of all non ICW materials with space/box designated for BOT related mail and papers.
- The administrator informs the committee of the message sent to the BOT in regard to the clean-up exercise at Idriss Mosque during the July 4th weekend. He requested the committee members to box all information, data, and materials that do not belong to ICW, and store it in the library as archive data.
Finance:
- Three items of concern were addressed. The General Operational Fund, the Sadaqa Fund, and the Carpet Cost.
- Various suggestions/ideas were entertained to encourage the community members to pay graciously for both sadqa and operational expenses. The committee is assigned to find ways to educate and encourage the community in regards to their duty towards less unfortunate.
- The religious committee agreed to schedule guest speakers for fundraising event; also they agreed to request the Khateeb to dedicate few minutes reminding the people to donate to the mosque.
Religious:
- The Religious committee presented the need for a permanent Imam. The consensus is that in order to find a qualified scholar, community must participate by donating generously to cover the cost.
- The religious committee has developed a plan to bring the community around such project with five different options to support such plan.
- The permanent Imam must have strong command of English language and be able to interpret Islam with open mind that can bring the community together.
- More discussion about this subject to be continued later.
- The religious committee to post list of names of people making the Adhan and leading the prayers.
Community Relation:
- The president informed the committee that he received few nominations for volunteers to lead executive and non-executive activities. Among the volunteers, Brother Yousef Mohammad who accepted to be the educational officer.
- Brother Abdul Bary Yahya came to the Mosque on 6/29/05 and informed the President in the presence of the “back-up” secretary his desire to be relieved from his duties. His verbal resignation was accepted, and the president informed the committee that he will be requesting one of the nominees to replace Abdul Bary. Also, he requested/ suggested/ asked for help from the committee to locate more volunteers.
