Meeting Minutes 8-04-05

An emergency meeting was requested by the Treasurer. Meeting was opened by the president at 8:10 PM. The following three items were addressed;
The following items were discussed and approved;
- Welcoming the ICW VP, Ashraf abdel-Rassoul.
- Carpet Status
- Annual Interfaith BBQ
The Carpet:
- Committee agreed upon the carpet selection criteria that is quality, warranty and neutral color that may be not too dark or too light. Committee requested for an actual sample of the carpet to be installed. In addition committee requested/recommended that replacement of the existing carpet should be completed before Ramadan.
- As the Ramadan approaching fast, committee emphasized an urgency to complete the project as soon as possible. Therefore committee requested carpet replacement project manager (Iqbal Abbasi) to coordinate with the treasurer and complete the transaction and installation of the carpet as quickly as possible without interruptions to regular activity at mosque.
Annual Interfaith BBQ:
An analysis was conducted by the members present of the Annual Interfaith BBQ to be held at the Mosque the Second Sunday of the month August, August 14. Several ideas were discussed:
One point focused was availability of enough food for all participants.
There should be better control of children activities
Ms Adriana Vanici and Ms Yuliya Labanouskaya are designated as the focal point of contact with sisters and to arrange sister?s Fatima backyard as sister?s gathering place. They were also given responsibility to arrange and conduct tours for the guests.
Better cooking location would be the small island at the Westside portion of the mosque to provide more space for the guest to move freely.
More publicity and inter masajids communication is required.
