The Idris Mosque is a non-profit religious organization, established in 1981 to serve the Muslims in the Puget Sound. The Late Sheikh Abdul Kadir Idris of Saudi Arabia funded the Mosque building. Brother Adnan Idris and his wife Sister Ameerah, daughter of the donor, supervised the Mosque design and construction. When the Mosque was completed, it was the first Mosque west of the Mississippi River that had the Arabesque architecture style.

The purpose of the Mosque is to provide religious services, educational, social, cultural and similar activities, to the Muslim community and serve as a resource for information, and cultural cooperation. A permanent Board of Trustees administers the Mosque.

The Mosque welcomes visitors by appointment.
