MARRIAGE PERFORMANCE CONDITIONS
Parties wishing to get married at Idris Mosque must comply with the following requirements before making appointment:
- Marriage will not be performed between a Muslim female and a non-Muslim male.
- Marriage License issued by a County in the State of Washington shall be obtained and presented to the Mosque authorized marriage performer prior to the marriage ceremony.
- Approval of the Marriage by respective fathers or recognized Muslim guardians shall be demonstrated prior to the performance of the marriage. This condition especially applies to the bride. Written permission from the Parent / Guardian of the bride consenting to marry.
- An agreement on the Dowry (Mahr) to the bride between the bride’s guardian and the groom must be completed.
- The Muslim husband and wife promise to practice the Islamic tenets and obligatory duties, especially prayers five times a day, on time.
- Marriage performance/reception shall conform to Islamic standard; no alcoholic beverages, no drugs of any kind, no sensual music, dancing or singing, no free mixing of men and women and immodest dressing
- Two Muslim male witnesses.
- Presence of the ‘Wakeel’ (guardian) of the bride at the time of marriage
- A set ‘Fee” / contribution payable to Idris Mosque.
- An appointment with the marriage performer must be scheduled at least one week prior to the day of marriage.
