5:45-6:20pm: New Muslimahs’ Prayer Starter Course. This class teaches sisters’ how to pray and make wudhu. Contact Sr. Gina at sisters@idrismosque.com for more details.
6:30-7:45pm: Islam 101: A Basic Introduction to Islam. (Downstairs). This halaqa is designed for new muslimahs; individuals interested in Islam or even sisters that have been Muslim all of their lives, but would like go back to basics to renew their knowledge of Islam. This class covers the biography of the Prophet Mohammad(s), Purification of the soul, Islamic etiquettes and character building in order to reshape one’s personality into the ideal muslimah
8:00pm: Islam 201/ Islam in Depth: The Next Step and Beyond, This class covers hadith, fiqh al-sunna (Islamic Jurisprudence), seera ( biography of the Prophet(s) and tafseer ( meaning of the Quran) and some other general Islamic studies. (Upstairs)
8:00pm: Arabic Halaqa (downstairs)
Every Saturday at 12:00 pm Um Yasser teaches the non-Arabic speaking sisters how to read the quran in Arabic. Whether you are a beginner or a more advanced reader, Um Yasser has a place in her halaqa for you.
Every first Saturday of each month sister Sana presents to us a videotape on various Islamic topics followed by a discussion of the material covered on the tape
Bimonthly social gathering that is going to be held at the Masjid. The purpose of this gathering is for the sisters to get together, socialize and share their concerns toward community issues.
The sisters have started a Hijab bank that will enable sisters to purchase second hand Islamic clothing at an affordable price. If anyone has Hijab or abayas in good condition they may donate them to our bank. All funds will go towards the masjid educational and community activities.
