One thousand people. One hundred dollars each. Together, $100,000 for the mosque’s programs, its day-to-day operations and the improvements around them, for everyone who walks through its doors.
The Power of 1000 asks 1,000 people to give $100 each: a goal of $100,000 that funds the mosque’s ongoing programs and activities, its day-to-day operating costs, and its projects and improvements. The $100 is the ask, not a rule: some give less and some give a great deal more. The giving form opens at $100 and you can change it; add “Power of 1000” to the note so the gift is counted toward the thousand. Gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

When the pandemic closed the mosque’s doors in 2020, restrictions limited our gatherings and took a toll on the mosque’s finances. As a house of Allah, Idris Mosque stood the test of time, because of your continued support.
The Power of 1000 was born from that experience. Instead of relying on a few large donors, it asks a thousand members of our community to each commit $100. A thousand gifts give the mosque a stable foundation for everything it does: the five daily prayers and Jumu’ah, weekend school and classes, lectures, Ramadan iftar and community gatherings, care for families in need, and the upkeep of a building that has served Seattle since 1981.

Weekend school, youth classes, Qur’an memorization, lectures and khutbahs, Ramadan iftar and community gatherings.
